Harbinger is rewriting the rules of commercial transport, building purpose-built electric vehicle platforms for the fleets, delivery operators and service businesses that move the modern economy. Studio Nine began working with the company at Series A, when it was Harbinger Motors, as a core digital partner. Since then Harbinger has grown through acquisition and product development into Harbinger Industries, with Motors now one part of a wider business, and Studio Nine’s remit has grown with it: from managing and evolving the Motors website to helping shape the positioning and website for Harbinger Industries as a whole.
The challenge
Medium-duty EV is one of the most strategically important shifts in commercial transport, and one of the hardest to communicate. The product is technical. The buyers are operational. The market is still pricing in the transition. The same digital surface has to convince a fleet director, an engineering lead, a dealer principal and a Tier-1 partner, without diluting the story for any of them. A static brochure site was never going to be enough. Harbinger needed a living, interactive platform capable of explaining the technology, modelling its commercial value, and supporting the sales and event motion as the business scaled, and, increasingly, a parent-brand story that could hold a growing portfolio together.
Our role
Studio Nine embedded as Harbinger’s ongoing digital partner, managing and evolving the site week-to-week, while building a suite of custom interactive tools that help customers and stakeholders explore the technology in depth. As the company grew beyond Motors, that partnership extended up into the parent brand. Harbinger retains ownership and control of its platforms; we provide the technical, creative and strategic muscle to keep them moving at the pace of the business.
Ongoing website management
Continuous development, page builds, content updates, technical improvements and campaign landing pages, keeping the site aligned with product launches, market moments and the marketing team’s velocity.
Chassis Navigator
A custom-coded interactive experience that lets users explore Harbinger’s chassis platforms, configurations and upfit possibilities visually, turning a complex catalogue into a guided product journey.
Total Cost of Ownership calculator
A purpose-built TCO model that translates spec sheets into the metric fleet operators actually buy on. It surfaces savings, payback and operational impact in seconds and arms the sales team with a credible commercial story.
Telematics Configurator
An interactive explorer for Harbinger’s connected-vehicle stack, helping prospects and partners understand data, diagnostics and fleet integration before the conversation gets technical.
Event & touchscreen experiences
Custom on-stand applications and touchscreen tools used at ACT Expo and other industry events, turning a booth into a guided product demo and capturing intent in the room.
Dealer Locator
A rebuilt, map-based dealer locator that helps fleet operators and service customers find and connect with their nearest Harbinger dealer, turning a simple utility into a considered part of the buying journey.
Harbinger Industries positioning & website
As Motors became one part of a larger company, Studio Nine took on the positioning and a new website for Harbinger Industries, the parent brand, defining how the wider business presents itself and its portfolio as it scales.
Strategic & technical partner
Beyond delivery, we act as an embedded extension of the team: UX direction, sales enablement, technical implementation and brand stewardship across every digital surface, from Motors to Industries.
Impact
A growing suite of custom interactive tools shipped over the partnership, a 3.4× increase in the delivery of digital tools, and a fast average turnaround on every build. A digital ecosystem that helps convince operators to electrify sooner, and a parent-brand platform ready for what Harbinger builds next.
“Studio Nine operates like an extension of our team. They take complex engineering and turn it into digital experiences that sell the vision before we even pick up the phone.”
